Serve at St. John's

God is at work, changing lives every week here at St. John’s—and you can be part of it!

Whether you’re greeting at the door, helping a guest find their seat, or serving hot coffee, your presence makes a difference.

No matter your gifts or personality—introverted or extroverted, goal-driven or people-focused—there’s a place for you to serve.

If you have questions about any of the opportunities listed (or others not shown here), please contact

Karen Larson, Volunteer Coordinator.

Coffee

Bar

These hospitality volunteers help make Sunday mornings welcoming by preparing donuts and refreshments for fellowship hour between services (9:30–10:00am). Once the 10:00am worship begins, you’ll clean up the coffee bar—knowing you’ve helped share smiles and hospitality with our church family.

USHERS

Ushers are the patrons of hospitality, helping to ensure members and visitors have all that they need to enjoy a positive worship experience—distributing bulletins, assisting guests, collecting offering, and supporting the efforts of staff.

SCRIPTURE

READERS

Scripture Readers help lead worship by proclaiming the Word of God through reading the appointed lessons during Sunday services. This ministry is ideal for anyone who enjoys public speaking and has a heart for sharing God’s message. Thank you for offering your time and gifts to enrich our worship together!

TECH BOOTH

Tech Booth volunteers play a vital role in worship by running the slides, livestream on Facebook, sound board, and cameras. This ministry is great for both adults and teens with an interest in technology—but no tech experience is required! All roles are easy to learn, and we are happy to provide training. Thank you for helping ensure a smooth and meaningful worship experience for both our in-person and online community!

MEALS ON

WHEELS

September is St. John's month to deliver Meals on Wheels! Meals on Wheels volunteers extend Christ’s love and care by delivering nutritious meals to members of our community who are homebound or in need of extra support. This ministry is ideal for anyone with a caring heart who enjoys connecting with others and brightening someone’s day. Thank you for sharing your time and compassion to nourish both body and spirit!

ALTAR GUILD

Altar Guild volunteers serve behind the scenes to prepare our worship space by setting up for Holy Communion and caring for the altar furnishings and paraments. This ministry is perfect for anyone who values attention to detail and wants to support the heart of our worship life. No prior experience is needed—we are happy to provide training. Thank you for offering your time and care to make our worship beautiful and welcoming!

FEAST

CLEAN UP

Feast Clean-Up volunteers help keep our space welcoming by wiping down tables and vacuuming under them in the Fellowship Hall after our weekly community meal on Wednesday nights at The Feast. This quick but important role happens from 5:45–5:55pm, so volunteers are finished in time to join us for 6:00pm Feast worship. Thank you for lending a hand to create a clean and hospitable space for all!
