As Lutherans, we baptize people of all ages - including infants. We do so, because we believe that God is the primary actor in the Sacrament of Baptism, and that God, through Baptism, connects us to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus; makes us part of God's family, the Church; and calls us to a life of discipleship.
We try to schedule baptisms for the THIRD or FIFTH Sundays of the month, but will accomodate family schedules so that baptismal sponsors and family members can be present for the baptism.
The presiding pastor will meet with the parents and/or the individual being baptized prior to the baptism to review the service and to discuss our Lutheran understanding of baptism.
Baptisms, except for emergencies, are celebrated during a Sunday morning worship service.
